Haneen Zoabi, rojena v Nazaretu, je priznana palestinska političarka stranke Balad. Od leta 2009 do 2019 je bila palestinska poslanka v izraelskem parlamentu Knesset kjer je bila posebno aktivna v Odboru za ženske in enakopravnost spolov in v Posebnem odboru za otrokove pravice. Od leta 2003 do 2008 je vodila arabski center za razvoj svobode medijev I’lam Media Centre. Leta 2009 se je udeležila Freedom Flotilla na ladji Mavi Marmara. V pogovoru z novinarko Kristino Božič bo spregovorila o današnjih perspektivah za prihodnost palestinskega naroda ter o zgodovinskih in političnih vzrokih, ki so privedli do današnjega stanja.

Dogodek poteka v okviru Tedna izraelskega apartheida, katerega namen je ozaveščati o sistemu apartheida, ki ga Izrael izvaja na Zasedenih palestinskih ozemljih, in ki poteka v mestih in po univerzah po celem svetu. Haneen Zoabi, born in Nazareth, is a renowned Palestinian politician, member of the Balad party. From 2009 to 2019 she served as a member of the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, and was particularly active in the Committe on the Status of Women and Gender Equality and the Special Committee for the Rights of the Child. From 2003 to 2008 che was head of the I’lam Media Centre, the Arab Centre for Media Freedom Development. In 2009 she joined the Freedom Flotilla on the Mavi Marmara. Haneen Zoabi will speak about  the perspectives for the future of the Palestinian people  and about the historical and political background which are at the root of the issue.

The event takes place within Israeli apartheid week which aims to raise awareness about the Israeli apartheid system. The event takes place in the cities and universities all over the world. This year it goes to the streets under the name ‘United against racism’. More on: http://apartheidweek.org/
